Hey Women Warriors,
Welcome to April, a month of renewal and reflection.
This issue honors women who continue forward after life changes in ways they never planned—whether through loss, service in the reserves, or carrying responsibilities that don’t pause. Strength doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like showing up anyway.
This month, we focus on endurance, identity, and the quiet ways women keep going—even when it’s hard.
You’re not alone here. You never have been.
Let's GO!

MILITARY TRIVIA:
There’s a military-related symbol that dates back to World War I—and today, it quietly represents both sacrifice and survival within military families.
Most people have seen it… but very few know its original meaning.
What is this symbol—and how did it start?

GOLD STAR SPOUSES: STRENGTH AFTER LOSS

April 5th honors Gold Star spouses, whose lives were permanently changed by military loss.
There’s no roadmap for this kind of grief. It reshapes everything: identity, family life, and the future you once expected. And yet—many keep going, one day at a time.
Grief isn’t linear. Strength isn’t constant. And moving forward doesn’t mean leaving anything behind.
Many Gold Star spouses continue serving in ways people don’t always see—raising families, supporting others, and simply choosing to stay engaged with life.
This is service without orders—and it matters.
Recognition days like this aren’t about reopening wounds. They’re about acknowledging a truth:
these spouses are still here, still carrying love and loss side by side.

FEATURED RESOURCE:
HOT off the presses is the BRAND NEW 'The Veteran's Guide App'.
You don’t need more information. You need the right system.
Right now, there are thousands of free resources for veterans—money, healthcare, retreats, career support—but most veterans never use them. Not because they don’t qualify… but because no one showed them how to connect the dots. At the same time, your brain is still running on military conditioning—reacting, pushing, holding it together—without a clear process to reset. That’s where things stay stuck.
So we built something different.
The Veteran’s Guide App combines the VETERAN Mindset training from my book, The Veteran's Guide to DIY Mental Health, with real-time access to the resources you already earned. One place. One prompt. You type what’s going on—and it helps you think clearly, reset your next move, and connect you to support that actually fits your situation. Not therapy. Not guesswork. Just a system to help you feel better and move forward—starting now.
Get access for FREE. One FREE coaching session every day.

STILL READY: WOMEN IN THE RESERVES

“Part-time” is a misleading term.
Women in the Air Force and Army Reserve live in two worlds—civilian life and military readiness. One day it’s work, family, and daily responsibilities. The next, it’s training, deployment, or rapid response.
There’s no real off-switch.
Reserve service means:
- Balancing careers and duty
- Managing family and uncertainty
- Staying ready—even when no one’s watching
And often? Doing it all without recognition.
April highlights that quiet commitment:
- April 14 – Air Force Reserve Birthday
- April 23 – Army Reserve Birthday
Because readiness doesn’t have to be visible to be vital.
If you’re serving this way—your service counts. Period.

WWC BOOK DEBRIEF: Option B
by Sheryl Sandberg & Adam Grant
Option B explores how people rebuild after unexpected loss and life disruption. Blending personal experience with research on resilience, it emphasizes that healing is not linear and that support systems matter. The book reframes adversity—not as something to “get over,” but something to grow around.
Why this matters for women warriors:
Loss—of identity, structure, or loved ones—is something many in this community understand deeply. This book reinforces that moving forward doesn’t mean moving on—it means rebuilding in your own way, at your own pace.

TRIVIA ANSWER: The Gold Star Lapel Button

It originated in World War I as a way for families to show that a loved one died in service. Over time, it became a lasting symbol of sacrifice—and today, it represents both loss and enduring connection within military families.
